| There are cases where the full width of the trap does not fit into the available spread area. In such cases the trapping may create more damage than benefits. The first two pictures show how the lack of narrowed traps would lead to even worse results: the yellow becomes uncovered after misregistration. The second two pictures show how the trap will be narrowed in the proximity of the white area, thus avoiding the problem.
