  Printing on film or plates with inkjet printers is an affordable and easy way of making relatively cheap, large format and relatively good quality films or plates for serigraphy, flexography or for unpretentious offset works.

StudioRIP is one of the few RIPs on the market that is able to produce high quality films or plates with inkjet printers, having proprietary solutions for the specific problems of the inkjet printing:

· Banding: the paper feed inaccuracy and the imperfect geometry of the nozzles converge to the phenomenon of the banding (visible horizontal lines on the print). Banding can be suppressed with a good microweaving technology. Details...

· Density vs. sharpness: for most technologies, inkjet films need to have high density. To achieve the needed density, much higher quantities of ink need to be printed on the film than on the paper. However, large quantity of ink will increase dot gain, and will distort the shape of the screen dots. Special techniques can protect the sharpness of the dots without losing density. Details...
